Privacy Policy

Effective September 23, 2026

Recall Desk is provided by Midpoint Software Group. This policy describes the information used by our website and iPhone app. Questions or privacy requests: info@midpointcorp.com.

Information we use

We use your email address, account identifier, and authentication records to create and protect your account. Your saved groceries and household products, package codes, recall cases, notes, alert preferences, and alert history are stored with your account so you can access them across devices. Items you import from a receipt can reveal purchases.

Search terms and barcode numbers are sent to our services to look up products and recall information. Search results may be cached. Hosting and account providers process technical records such as IP addresses, request times, errors, and authentication activity to operate and secure the service.

Signing in

You can sign in using a code sent to your email address or your account password. On iPhone, Sign in with Apple is also available. If you choose Apple, we receive an Apple account identifier and the email address Apple shares with us, which may be a private relay address. We do not receive your Apple password. Existing customers can connect Apple to their signed-in Recall Desk account.

For Apple-connected accounts, we store an encrypted Apple authorization token on the server so we can revoke the connection when you delete your Recall Desk account. The token is restricted to server use and is removed with the account. Apple processes its sign-in service under its own privacy policy.

Camera and receipt photos

Barcode, label, and receipt recognition runs on your device. Recall Desk does not upload or store the original photos on its servers. Text or barcode information you choose to search or save is sent to our services. Review detected text before saving; avoid entering sensitive personal or medical details in notes.

Browser storage

We use browser or device storage for sign-in sessions and app preferences. Clearing it can sign you out or reset local preferences; it does not delete saved account data. We do not use advertising cookies.

Alerts

Saved-item monitoring is optional. You choose whether to enable the alert inbox, email alerts, and iPhone notifications. Email services receive your email address and the information included in a message. If you enable phone notifications, we store an Apple notification token linked to your account session. Lock-screen messages do not include product names.

Service providers and outside sources

We use Supabase for accounts, saved data, and background processing; Resend for email; Apple for iPhone notification delivery; and OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for website and related hosting. These providers process information needed to supply their services.

Recall lookups use U.S. CPSC and FDA sources and a cached copy of official USDA FSIS notices. Recent USDA summaries may also come from CDC’s official Food Safety feed. These imports contain public recall information only; saved items and search terms are not sent to the CDC feed. Grocery barcode lookups use Open Food Facts. Requested search terms or barcodes may be sent to these sources through our services. Opening an official notice or photo link connects your device to the outside website, whose own privacy policy applies.

Recall Desk does not sell personal information or use advertising tracking. The app does not include advertising or cross-app advertising identifiers.

Subscriptions

Apple handles App Store payments; Recall Desk does not receive your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore subscription access, and understand subscription activity. RevenueCat receives your Recall Desk account identifier, purchase and renewal history, subscription status, and store-related information such as currency and locale. This information is linked to your account and used for app functionality and subscription analytics, not advertising tracking. We do not send your saved groceries, receipt text, or medicine searches to RevenueCat.

Your choices and deletion

You can edit or remove saved items, archive groceries, and change monitoring and email settings in Alerts. Email alerts also include an unsubscribe link. Manage camera and notification permission in your device settings. Signing out disconnects that iPhone’s registered notifications.

To delete your account and associated saved data, open Account → Delete account and saved data and confirm. You can also contact us at the email above for help or to request access, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify that a request comes from the account owner.

Retention and security

We retain account data while your account is active and as needed to provide the features you use. Deleting your Recall Desk account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it separately in Apple’s subscription settings. Subscription transaction records held by Apple or RevenueCat may be retained for payment, fraud-prevention, or legal requirements. Contact us for help with a subscription-data privacy request. Deletion removes active account records; limited backups, operational records, or information required for security or legal obligations may remain subject to applicable retention requirements. Technical safeguards include encrypted connections and account-based access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children and policy updates

Recall Desk is intended for adults managing household products and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We may update this policy when our services or practices change; the effective date above identifies the current version.
